On the latest Go Creative Show Podcast, HBO’s Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynastycinematographers Todd Banhazl and Mihai Malaimare Jr. discuss how they mixed multiple camera types and formats to perfectly capture the 1970s and ’80s iconic looks.

Winning Time features a very unique look that and part of that is because they shot on 35mm film, 8mm film, and with old Ikegami tube cameras that were actually used to shoot some of the actual content in the ’70s and early ’80s.

Todd, Mihai, and Go Creative Show host, Ben Consoli, discuss why they loved filming on the Ikegami camera, post-processing techniques to help age the look, creating a visual rule book, and how hard light affects character development.
