To Playstation 5 or not to Playstation 5? For a big chunk of the gaming population, that's been the question since last fall.

Yes, Sony's newest console does offer some pretty major performance improvements over the last-gen PS4 and the upgraded PS4 Pro, especially when it comes to load times. Players also have the newfound freedom to fiddle around with the PS5's visual settings, in case you have a preference between sublime graphics and buttery-smooth gameplay.

On the flip side, you can't really take full advantage of the PS5's capabilities without an 8K TV that supports refresh rates of up to 120Hz and HDMI 2.1 (and there are hardly any on the market right now, at least at a reasonable price point). Consider also the fact there are still very few PS5 exclusives out there that you can't also play on a PS4, and the, uh, slight challenge of merely finding a PS5.

If you're super set on getting a PS5 eventually, Mashable tech reporter Alex Petty suggests waiting for a good deal on both the console and a nice TV (which could be a while out, realistically). Otherwise, go ahead with a regular, degular, shmegular PS4 and start diving into some new games. GameStop just got a few bundles(opens in a new tab) in stock that'll help you flesh out your library — here's what's available:

On sale for just under $300 (or $200 cheaper than the standard PS5 with a UHD Blu-Ray disc drive 👀), this system bundle includes a refurbished PS4 with 500GB of storage space and four must-have Playstation exclusives: The Last of Us Remastered, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, God of War, and Ratchet & Clank. (Psst: The latter two are getting sequels later this year.)

Get it at GameStop for only $299.99, or $22.96 off its suggested retail price of $322.95.

If 2020 wasn't scary enough for you, GameStop is selling another PS4 bundle with a refurbished 500GB console and four ooky-spooky classics for the same price. This one gets you physical copies of Doom, Resident Evil 7, The Evil Within, and Until Dawn.

At $299.99, it's a solid $25.97 off its $325.96 MSRP.

Not sure which game to start first? You'll experience some of the best of what Playstation has to offer when you boot up Spider-Man: Miles Morales, a stunning and compelling third-person action-adventure game from last year. This bestselling bundle comes with a copy of it and a 1TB PS4 Slim, which is just a thinner, lighter version of the standard PS4.

Grab it at GameStop for $349.99.

Tide yourself over until it's safe to watch sports in-person again: This PS4 Slim system bundle features a physical copy of Madden NFL 21, voucher codes for FIFA 21 and FIFA 21 Ultimate Team, a 14-day trial Playstation Plus trial, and an extra DualShock wireless controller.

An online exclusive, you can order it from GameStop's website for $459.99 total.
